New 4 & 5 Star Hotels and Resorts
A surge in new hotel investments across the Marbella area is a promising sign of the long term growth of Marbella. Big hotel players such as 4 seasons, Club Med, W Hotels & Les Roches all have projects starting, in addition to this a number of smaller investment groups are opening luxury boutique hotels each with a fresh and unique twist. A number of new projects and refurbishments are currently under way totalling €500,000,000 so far. The hotel landscape of Marbella is coming to a whole new level. With an ever changing world of technology, more and more people are able to work remotely whether that is part time or full time many people are thinking if they can work from home, why not make that home somewhere like Marbella. This is a trend we dont think will be slowing down anytime soon, with an influx of entrepreneurs and co-working spaces becoming common place, we think this trend will not just apply to entrepreneurs but anyone that can work remotely with a laptop and a phone (which is a lot of us). With that in mind people are starting to look to the map and see where they can work from. Although this may only be part time with a lower cost of living than most northern European cities while still being just a couple of hours flight away from your head office or clientele makes Marbella a perfect choice.
The Spanish government is also trying to promote this with the ‘entrepreneurs visa’ aimed at attracting international business owners who may not be in the EU zone.
Looking a little further ahead…
New Port and Industrial Zone Relocation
One of Marbella’s biggest ‘faux pas’ was to build an industrial estate on some of the most prime real estate Marbella has to offer, with some of its best beaches and amazing location, not to mention it is the first thing to visit after driving through the iconic Marbella sign, after driving through the sign most newcomers expect ‘The Golden Mile’ not somewhere to get your car serviced. Plans to move the industrial estate behind ‘La Cañada’ shopping centre to make way for a new high street zone, with luxury hotels boutique shops and stunning homes have been made. Then leading into one of Europes most impressive ports. BUT… who knows how long it will take, however we do know it will happen one day, whether it’s in the next 5 years, 10 years or 15 years one thing is for sure it will happen and when it does it will transform Marbella.
With all this in mind Marbella’s future is bright, while there are of course going to be some delays with certain projects the overall trend is that of growth and development and this is why so many people choose to work, live and holiday in this stunning part of the world. If you are looking for an investment property to cash in on Marbella’s popularity while still being able to enjoy the property yourself or maybe you are looking to move somewhere with a better quality of life Marbella is definitely worth exploring further.
